FAQ about GM Tech 2 Scan Tool

I received my GM Tech2 today. It was a longer than expected shipping time but am quite happy with it so far. I have not yet used it and my first task will be to perform a CKP relearn. Ill let yo u know how it goes in the following parts.


Q: Can GM Tech 2 Scanner support key coding and electronic control unit programming for all OPEL and Isuzu?

A: GM tech2 can’t support key programming; as for electronic control unit programming, you need to additionally buy a GM TECH2 and a TIS2000, but TIS2000 only support GM and Opel, not support Isuzu.

Q: Can obd2 scanner GM Tech2 send commands to the various modules and is it able to do diagnostics on a climate control programmer? To what year is the scanner effective? I own a 1997 Cadillac DeVille and a 2001 Chevrolet Venture.

A: Yes, you can use GM TECH2 to diagnose climate control programmer, when it has communication GM Tech 2 can send commands to the modules.

Q: GM TECH 2 contains Saturn software?

A: yes, Saturn software is included in the GM software English and support for on-board diagnostics on all GM systems 1992 thru 2013.

You can pick up a Tech 2 clone for about $350 from China. I have one and I use it all the time. It has proven to be rock solid reliable and does everything a real one does. Mine came with a USB key that will authorize changes to your car. If your VIN is not in the key you get then for a small fee you can get authorization just like any shop doing the work for you has to do.

How to Solve VW Amarok Caddy 2018+ Remote Not Working After Programming

Here comes the general problem of VW Amarok Caddy etc. 2018+ UDS protocol vehicles: 2019 VW Caddy. I spent a few hours programming the Xhorse key using VVDI2 . Also tried TDB1000. Remote function could not be obtained. Every time the programming failed, the original remote stopped working until I scanned and cleared errors.
