How to Install and Use the CANDI Interface on a GM Tech2 Scanner

The GM Tech II comes with  GM software and provides support for on-board diagnostics on all GM systems 1992 thru 2010.The CANDI module for GM tech2 connects between the GM Tech 2 Flash’s diagnostic link cable and the OBD adapter. Once the CANDI module is connected, it can be used on all GM vehicle applications, even those vehicles using other platforms such as OBD I and OBD II. The CANdi (Controller Area Network Diagnostic Interface) is an in-line cable module that works with existing Tech 2 components including the VCI, cables and adapters. CANdi module is fully compatible with current and past Tech 2 software. The module powers up in a way that makes it transparent to the user. This allows the existing Tech 2 software to be used with no changes when the CANdi module is installed. If a vehicle requires the use of a CANdi module, the Tech 2 clone will enable features specific to the module. Supports simultaneous communications on three CAN buses Provides h...

Fix 2005 C6 Corvette Brake lights stay on with VXDIAG VCX Nano / Tech II

Car model and year: 2005 C6 Corvette z51 53,000 miles. 6speed manual. Symptom: Found out the hard way about the drain while not driving the car for a while. Battery would not recharge, so I purchased a new one about 8 months ago. Found out the hard way the interior lights in the rearview mirror are a little confusing? So dead battery, recharged , connected battery to the car, started up fine and now I have; Brake lights stay on Service Active handling message with the yellow icon on reads code C0561-71 Runs and drives fine. Many hours of research I have checked the plug wires, battery voltage, disconnected the battery, pulled the blue plugs in the passenger area and reset. What to do next? C0161 Antilock Brake System (ABS)/Traction Control System (TCS) Brake Switch Circuit EBCM C0561 System Disabled Information Stored EBCM So the question is if the brake pedal sensor is bad, and the car thinks you are riding the brakes to throw the codes, or if something easy easy t...

2002 GMC Sierra Scan Tool or Diagnostic Tool you use – pros and cons

Car model and year: 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Purpose : to pull codes Scan Tool or Diagnostic Tool to use – pros and cons 1. GM Tech2 pros and cons To do work on gm stuff I have knock off Tech 2 . I like it. 2. My OBD Link MX+ or Konnwei Bluetooth devices with the usual Dash Command, Torque Pro, OBD Link and Motor Data apps work for me for troubleshooting. For us LS engine swap people that don’t like to pay the HP Tuners folks money to license a new operating system, there are now free alternatives. “Tuner Pro RT” software allows the free editing of a General Motors PCM operating system to get it to work in a swapped vehicle. Then we use “LS Droid” software with my MX+ device to actually write the changed Tuner Pro operating system to the PCM which completely avoids spending money on HP Tuners. 3. For a long time I have gotten by with a simple scanner. These days with the Bluetooth devices and the torque app…that is even easier for basic stuff. Back in 2011 I picke...

Where to buy a decent Tech 2 clone to unlock stock head unit

Looking for a decent Tech II of some sort for unlocking a radio Cost: Dealership will do it for $135, which isn’t bad too me compared to what i’ve seen others pay. Tip and guide: If your going to wrench on the car, then pick up a  Tech II clone; since your going to need one for even simple things like when you go to flush the brake lines (cycle the ABS pump) or need to pull body codes that a standard scanner will not pull. That link at $224 is a good deal. I thought they were more like the link below that one usually, closer to $300. I keep an eye out in the classifieds here but they always go very quickly Here is how to unlock the radio with the clone Tech II You need to find either a dealer or an independent shop that has a TECH II to “unlock” your nav unit. The GM radios are VIN specific, so the unlock process involves clearing the old VIN # from the nav unit, and allowing it to accept your VIN #. As I said, this can be done by anyone who has access to a T...

My order of GM Tech2 Diagnostic Scanner with TIS2000 Software

This was my order of  GM Tech2 Diagnostic Scanner with TIS2000 Software : Order Date: Jan 1, 2019 Ship to: United States This is how GM Tech2 looks out of the box: Turned on: The following 3 paragraphs are what I mail to OBD2TOOL : I tested device and it works well. Problem is the screen. I believe for return I would have to send back and pay for shipping. This would take a long time and I have work to do using the tool. Right now I am using a laptop connected so I can see the full screen I would rather do partial refund or try replacing the screen myself. Will you do a partial refund? Can you send or help me find a replacement screen? I have been happy so far with OBD2TOOL so far. The price, service and shipping speed was good. I hope we can reach a positive solution. Finally, OBD2TOOL ship me a new package. Just want to let you know, I finally took the time to really test out the replacement I was sent and it appears to work perfectly....
